Environmental systems and societies- Academic honesty

The owners of ideas have property rights. All sources used during environmental systems and societies have to be fully acknowledged.

The ideas and work of others are acknowledged through the use of footnotes and bibliographies.
Bibliographies have to include a list of all resources used. When writing a ESS IB work, bibliography is usually divided in several parts (books, articles…).
Footnotes are used when you quote from another source, or summarize the information. When writing Environmental systems and societies IAs, definitions don’t need to be footnoted. In this case, they are ”assumed knowledge”.

Malpractice includes plagiarism and collusion. Plagiarism is representation of somebody else’s work as your own. In Environmental systems and societies, any plagiarism must be avoided.
